Dissecting an Owl Pellet



Today gramma showed Ruth and I an owl pellet and said that we could dissect it. Here is a picture of the owl pellet before we dissected it:
Dissecting the owl pellet was interesting. An owl pellet is all the stuff an owl can't digest. Owl pellets must not be confused with owl poop. There s a very large difference between the two. Poop is the stuff that has been digested and has no necessary nutrients in it. A pellet is the stuff that could not be digested. That's why there are neat things you can find when you dissect them.
