Riding Bikes to School

Today we rode our bikes to school. It is pretty easy riding to school, but kind of hard going back. That's because from our house to our school it is all downhill.
We rode our bikes all the way to school, but only part of the way back; mom picked us up from there. Dad took the Healthy Jueves dishes back on his Xtracycle. It was fun.

Airport again

We got home without any major delays, except for the little one where on our first flight (from Chicago to Los Angeles). There was this woman with a dog in her purse walking up and down the aisle looking for a seat. This wouldn't have mattered so much if that wasn't our first plane, but it was our first plane and we had to run to catch the next one. We were all a little surprised we made it. And we weren't the last ones on, even. Here is a picture of the clouds viewed from my window:
Almost the moment we arrived at the house, Ruth and I went out exploring in the forest we call Fangorn. We got pretty far with the help of a old wooden board we used as a battering ram. Ruth and I found a few tics on each other when we came home.

Attic Game

Today Ruth and I invented a game that we play in the part of the attic that looks like this:

It is a game where I get one of those big red pillows and try to pin Ruth down while Ruth tries to get on top and tickle me. I know it seems like a simple game, but it actually is quite fun. Tomorrow we're leaving. BOO HOO! I'm petting Zoey right now because I won't be able to pet her for a year.

Dissecting an Owl Pellet

Today gramma showed Ruth and I an owl pellet and said that we could dissect it. Here is a picture of the owl pellet before we dissected it:
Dissecting the owl pellet was interesting. An owl pellet is all the stuff an owl can't digest. Owl pellets must not be confused with owl poop. There s a very large difference between the two. Poop is the stuff that has been digested and has no necessary nutrients in it. A pellet is the stuff that could not be digested. That's why there are neat things you can find when you dissect them. Here is a picture of the dissected pellet:

Conservatory

When we got back from granddad's house we went to the Conservatory. It was very hot. My favorite rooms were the ones with water that is made for getting in contact with. For example, the room with a drinking fountain and the mist. But we did see the plant with the biggest leaves in the world, some exotic flowers, neat waterfalls, and, last but not least, the tator vine.

Morning at my Granddad's House

Today we ate a breakfast of thin pancakes and bacon and sausage. Then uncle Creig and I modified our previous turtle art program so it makes bouncy squiggles that change color and pen width. It is a very complicated script. Then we went to the lake again and Ruth and I played the 728 game on the underwater sandbar. The 728 game is a game where I am a robot that Ruth met and there are lots of other robots. The robot I pretend to be is called 728.

My Grandad's House

We just finished eating lunch at my granddad's house. We got here about an hour ago. We played in the lake before lunch and now were going to play in it again.

Millennium Park

Today we saw the bean again, played in the face fountain, and got takeout at Max's takeout. The face fountain is really fun to play in. You can see what it looks like by looking at our photos. Ruth and I like playing in the leg sculptors. We play a game that is sort of like tag except you have to steal my sweater if you are it. Here is a picture of us playing that:

Ruth and I also like playing tickle monster. It is a game where Ruth chases me around and I try to get away. One way of defending myself against the tickles is curling up into a tight ball. It is a very fun game.

Shed Aquarium

Today we went to the Shed Aquarium. We saw sting rays, sharks, eels, fish, more fish, even more fish, a sea turtle, and dolphins. The dolphins were my favorite part of the Shed Aquarium. they train them so that when they blow a whistle it means "Good! You can have a treat now." . The dolphin trainers also have hand signals for all the triks that the dolphins can do. Once on of the dolphin trainers did the hand signal for "do a backflip" and the dolphin did a backflip but the trainer didn't blow her whistle so the dolphin did backflips until the trainer blew her whistle.

Walking Zoey

Today Gramma and I get up at 6:00 and walked Zoey around 6:30. Zoey is a fun dog. I like siting and petting her for a long time. When you stop petting her she puts her paw on you and doesn't take it off until you start petting her again. Zoey likes to chase rabbits she thinks that they are toys that squeak really loud when you bite them. She gets confused because whenever you squeak them they stop working.

Field Museum and Malinium park

Today we went to the field museum and visited the mammals, the DNA exhibit, the Arctic exploring photos, the nature walk, the eating place, and the Gorge Washington Caver exhibit. Mr.Caver did a a lot of experiments on peanuts. He prayed to god that he could know everything. God said that was too much for him, so he asked if he could know everything about peanuts. Boy, did God answer that prayer. He figured out how to make gasoline out of peanuts, starch out of peanuts, laxative out of peanuts, oil out of peanuts, soap out of peanuts, and so much more that I can't remember the rest.
We also went to Millennium park. It has a really interesting metal bean that your reflection looks really interesting in.

When you're under the bean you can look up and see a map of everything that is under the bean.

Ruth and I like to look up all the time and play tag under the bean. It is difficult because since it is a mirror image every time you turn clockwise it looks like you are turning counter clockwise. I can't wait to go to the lake on Sunday.

Zoey

I am petting my grama's dog Zoey right now. It is hard to type so I won't say much. Whenever I stop petting her she puts her paw on me.

Saxophone

I hope you like my title. My dad recently finished reading The Lord of the rings to my little sister Ruth and I. After one chapter, one that mentions "tators" (potatoes), Ruth and I got in a conflict. Ruth chased me around, and, as usual, I annoyed her. Then she called me a cursed tator. I broke down into a fit of giggles. The next day I invented the "tator game". It is a game where I am a tator and Ruth is a tator catcher and runs around chasing me saying things like: "You must die a tator's death in pozole!!" Then I started getting really into tators and I started writing the tator constitution, saying "tators rule!" regularly, and other weird things.

Today I had my third saxophone lesson. So far the songs I like best and can play are Pink Panther and Basic Blues.
